The base is located at Aberdeen, Maryland (in Harford county). Dundalk, MD (28.9 Miles), Baltimore, MD(34.7 miles), Philadelphia, PA (77.5 miles) are some of the aurrounding cities. The base serves United States Army. It is a proving ground for the army. It used to serve U.S. Army Chemical and Biological Defense Command (CBDCOM). The base occupies 72962 acres. The base provides training for more than 20000 US & foreign personnel each year. It houses 7500 civilians & 5000 military personnel. The base is the proving ground for the ordnance material. The base was built in 1917. The base has been named based on the location of the base. There are no hosing facilities at the base. Aberdeen Rm Archives & Museum, Beechtree Golf Club, Boardwalk fun (amusement park) are some of the attractions near the base. Children based in base attends Harford county schools. The base does not provide any training, it is a testing facility. The base serves as the testing facility for Army vehicles, including Abrams tanks, Bradley Fighting Vehicles and Humvees.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,116 people, 805 households, and 763 families residing in the base.
